Guide to the Endemic Birds of Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka recognizes 34 endemic bird species at
present. But Ceylon Scaly Thrush will be officially removed soon from
the list as it is now lumped with White's Thrush. The last addition to
this list was Sri Lanka Lesser Flameback as it is now treated as a
separate full species. Finally the number will drop to 33. Following
are the all endemics depicted by illustrations done by our co- founder
& tour leader Tharanga Herath. Most of these paintings appeared in 'Endemic Birds of Sri Lanka' poster published by Wildlife Trust Sri Lanka.
