Sri Lanka recognizes 34 endemic bird species at present. But Ceylon Scaly Thrush will be officially removed soon from the list as it is now lumped with White's Thrush. The last addition to this list was Sri Lanka Lesser Flameback as it is now treated as a separate full species. Finally the number will drop to 33. Following are the all endemics depicted by illustrations done by our co- founder & tour leader Tharanga Herath. Most of these paintings appeared in 'Endemic Birds of Sri Lanka' poster published by Wildlife Trust Sri Lanka.

Guide to the Endemic Birds of Sri Lanka. 

Moments of a group tour that we organized and led for a group of Wildlife biologists and birders from the USA in February 2020.The tour ended up with 226 bird species including all 33 currently recognized endemics of Sri Lanka, just in 11 birding days !. In addition some other interesting wildlife including a surprise sighting of a nesting Olive- ridley Turtle in day time !! were encountered. It was a fantastic time with full of fun, happiness and adventure with this great group of people.
